APE — App Piteco

How APE turns organized content into active practice

APE is not a closed teaching method or a promise of outcomes. It is a practice architecture.

Section 1

One base, different cognitive demands

Recognition, retrieval, writing, ordering and listening are different operations.

Section 2

Retrieve before revealing

Learners attempt reconstruction before consulting the answer.

Section 3

Feedback

Attempts should be followed by clear feedback and another opportunity.

Section 4

Distributed practice

APE can support returning to content but cannot create spacing without continued use.

Section 5

Task variation and transfer

Broader competence still requires reading, listening, interaction and spontaneous production.

Section 6

Professional experience versus research

Teaching experience supports authorship and design context. It does not replace controlled evaluation.
